  City Recycling Services
The City of LeRoy is now able to provide around the clock recycling services to the residents, thanks to a grant the city received from the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
The city recently purchased a roll off truck so we can transport the recycling containers to the Town of Normal. The Town of Normal has agreed to allow the city to drop off the recyclable materials at their distribution center. We have also purchased two recycle containers which will be placed at two different locations in town. The first location will be the LeRoy IGA (203 E. Cedar), and the second location will be the LeRoy Street Department (410 N. Hemlock), these containers will be accessible twenty four hours a day seven days a week. Providing twenty four hour recycling service to residents will make recycling much more convenient, we hope that residents take advantage of this new service.
There are many important things to know about recycling; most importantly residents should know what can be recycled. The city now accepts paper, plastic, metal, and glass. Below are both general and specific rules that residents should follow when recycling.

Important things to keep in mind when recycling:
  1. All materials must be clean
  2. Boxes must be broken down
  3. Wash out all jars, bottles, and cans
  4. No plastic deli containers, bowls, or TV dinner trays will be accepted
  5. Throw away all caps and tops
  6. No need to peel (remove) labels
  7. If you store recyclables in plastic bags or boxes you must take the recyclables out of the bags or boxes before depositing them in the recycle containers.
Please help us to be more efficient by following all the guidelines.
