LeRoy Police make drug bust
LEROY -
For the second time this year, the LeRoy Police Department has obtained and executed a
narcotics search warrant. LeRoy Police Chief Gordon Beck said his department was "advised of drug
sales traffic" at a LeRoy residence. A search warrant was obtained, and one person was arrested as a
result of the search.
In September, The LeRoy Police Department obtained and executed a narcotics search warrant, which
resulted in the arrest of three people.
The LeRoy Police Department is also working in cooperation with other agencies in drug
enforcement. Last month, the Illinois State Police served a search warrant at a LeRoy residence, resulting
in arrests. The LeRoy Police Department was present at that search to observe and provide assistance as
needed.
Beck says that was a valuable learning experience for his officers. He hopes LeRoy will be able to
offer assistance to the Drug Task Force in the future.
EMERGENCY DRILL
The LeRoy Police Department recently
conducted an emergency drill at the
LeRoy High School in cooperation
with many of the surrounding agencies
including; McLean County Sheriff's office,
Heyworth Police Department,
Illinois State University Police,
Metcom, LeRoy Ambulance Service
and LeRoy Fire Department.
A note of many thanks and
gratitude to all of the participating
agencies who helped to make this
first (of many hopefully) emergency
response drill an outstanding success!

receives Lifesaving Commendation
COMMENDATION
April 2, 2007
The City of Le Roy and the Le Roy Police Department would like to recognize and commend Le Roy Police Officer Michael Bennett for his life saving efforts in rendering C.P.R. to Mr Howard Hauboldt from Wisconsin. Mr Hauboldt, a long haul truck driver was traveling through Le Roy on the evening of February 13, 2007 and had stopped at the Super 8 Motel to stay the night when he suffered a cardiac arrest. Officer Bennett answered the call and was first to arrive on the scene. He immediately started C.P.R. and directed Mr. Hauboldt’s driving partner to assist.
With Officer Bennett’s efforts and direction, and the continued effort of the Paremedic personnel from the Le Roy Ambulance company, Mr. Hauboldt arrived at the hospital in Bloomington in stable condition and was released home a week later.
Officer Bennett responded and applied his training in the highest tradition of the Law Enforcement Profession to save a life. For his efforts, we commend him for being instrumental in saving the life of Mr. Howard Hauboldt.
