MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 5, 2009
The meeting was called to order at 7:02 P.M. by Mayor Gary Koerner with all the council members present at roll call. Staff members present were Gordon Beck, Jeff Clawson and Sue Marcum.
The following items were included in the consent agenda:
1. Minutes of the December 15, 2008 City Council Meeting.
2. Minutes of the December 15, 2008 Committee Work Session.
3. Listed Invoices for payment in the total amount of $155,574.32.
Motion was made by Steve and seconded by Shirley to approve the consent agenda. Roll call: Dawn Hanafin-yes, Nancy Bentley-yes, Dave McClelland-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, John Haney-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Steve Dean-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes. Motion carried 8 yeas, 0 nays.
Staff reported the city’s advertising commercials promoting the city and various businesses were currently running on Peoria (WMBD) and Peoria (WYZZ). The council also learned the city received a grant from McLean County in the amount of $4,087 to reimburse expenses for the city’s mosquito abatement program.
Motion was made by Shirley and seconded by Dawn T. to recess the regular session and enter execution session at 7:48 P.M. to discuss 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1), Personnel, 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (2), Collective Bargaining and 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (11), Litigation. Roll call: Dawn Hanafin-yes, Nancy Bentley-yes, Dave McClelland-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, John Haney-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Steve Dean-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes. Motion carried 8 yeas, 0 nays.
Motion was made by Nancy and seconded by Steve to adjourn the executive session at 8:48 P.M. and return to regular session. Roll call: Dawn Hanafin-yes, Nancy Bentley-yes, Dave McClelland-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, John Haney-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Steve Dean-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes. Motion carried 8 yeas, 0 nays.
Minutes of the meeting held on 01/05/2009 continued.
