MINUTES OF THE
COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON August 18, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Gary Koerner with all council members present at roll call except Dawn Hanafin and John Haney. Staff members present were Steve Reynolds, Corey Edgington, Gordon Beck, Jeff Clawson and Vicki Moreland.
Minutes of the City Council Meeting held on August 4, 2008 were approved on a motion made by Steve and seconded by T.A. Roll call: Dave McClelland-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Steve Dean-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Nancy Bentley-yes. Motion carried 6 yeas, 0 nays.
John Haney was seated at 7:05 P.M.
Motion was made by Steve, second by Nancy to accept the low bid from Robert Shay Land Improvement in the amount of $19,840.00 for the landfill project. Roll call: Dave McClelland-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, John Haney-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Steve Dean-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Nancy Bentley-yes. Motion carried 7 yeas, 0 nays.
Listed invoices in the total amount of $567,086.63 were approved for payment on a motion made by Dave and seconded by Dawn T. Roll call: Dave McClelland-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, John Haney-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Steve Dean-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Nancy Bentley-yes. Motion carried 7 yeas, 0 nays.
Gordon Beck reported that there were no serious problems during the Fall Festival.
Steve Reynolds reported on the progress of the chipper truck repair. Steve also reported that the work at the intersection at East Street would start Friday evening, August 22 and should be completed and ready for opening Sunday morning, August 24.
Corey Edgington reported that the hydrant flushing had been completed and that the Washington Street water main was tested and clear for consumption.
Jeff Clawson stated that the next council meeting scheduled for Monday, September 1, 2008 would be rescheduled for Tuesday, September 2, 2008 due to the Labor Day Holiday.
Dawn Hanafin was seated at 7:20 P.M.
Motion was made by Dawn T. and seconded by John to adjourn the regular session of the city council and begin work session at 7:35 P. M. Roll call: Dave McClelland-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, John Haney-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Steve Dean-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Dawn Hanafin-yes, Nancy Bentley-yes. Motion carried 8 yeas, 0 nays.
