MINUTES OF THE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 21, 2008
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Gary Koerner with all council members present at roll call except Dawn Hanafin. Staff members present were Steve Reynolds, Mike Bennett, Dave Jenkins, Jeff Clawson and Sue Marcum.
Minutes of the January 7, 2008 Council Meeting were approved on a
motion made by Butch and seconded by
Dawn Hanafin was seated at 7:08 P.M.
Motion was made by Butch and seconded by Shirley, in regards to the Sullivan building located at 113 E. Center Street, to direct staff to proceed with the arrangement of an asbestos inspection, to put the demolition contractor on notice and to direct Bruce Beal to advance the legal process. Roll call: John Haney-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Dawn Hanafin-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Nancy Bentley-yes, Dave McClelland-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes. Motion carried 8 yeas, 0 nays.
Motion was made by T. A. and second was given by John to approve
the Farnsworth Group proposal for verifying the conceptual design and
determining project costs for a proposed new multiuse public service building
for a fee not to exceed $10,000.

Listed invoices in the total amount of $83,594.03 were approved for payment on a motion made by Dave and seconded by Dawn T. The mayor received a request for support from Showbus Public Transportation. Staff was instructed to schedule for a donation check to be sent to Showbus in the amount of $400.00.
