MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON JUNE 18, 2007
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Gary Koerner with all council members except Dawn Hanafin present at roll call. Staff members in attendance were Steve Reynolds, Mike Bennett, Jeff Clawson and Vicki Moreland.
Minutes of the June 4, 2007 Council Meeting were approved on a motion made by Butch, and seconded by T.A.. Roll call: John Haney-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Butch Cook-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Nancy Bentley-yes, Dave McClelland-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes. Motion carried 7 yeas, 0 nays.
Minutes of the June 7, 2007 Zoning Board of Appeals meeting were approved on a motion made by Dave, seconded by Dawn T.. Roll call: John Haney-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Butch Cook-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Nancy Bentley-yes, Dave McClelland-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes. Motion carried 7 yeas, 0 nays.
Dawn Hanafin arrived at 7:10 P.M.
Ordinance No. 07-06-02-51, An ordinance approving a variation in front yard setbacks from the required 25 feet to 10 feet at 110 E. Washington, Joseph Lade, was approved with corrections on a motion by Dave, seconded by John. Roll call: John Haney-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Dawn Hanafin-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Nancy Bentley-yes, Dave McClelland-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes. Motion carried 8 yeas, 0 nays.
A public hearing concerning the Halcomb property annexation was opened at 7:15
P.M..
No comments were made and the hearing closed at 7:18 P.M..
Ordinance No. 07-06-03-50, An ordinance approving the annexation of the Halcomb property was approved on a motion by Dawn T, seconded by Dawn H.. Roll call: John Haney-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Dawn Hanafin-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Nancy Bentley-yes, Dave McClelland-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes. Motion carried 8 yeas, 0 nays.
Motion was made to approve the purchase of a 2008 Crown Victoria police car from Hutch’s Motor Company in the amount of $20,888.30 by Butch, seconded by Nancy. Roll call: John Haney-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Dawn Hanafin-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Nancy Bentley-yes, Dave McClelland-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes. Motion carried 8 yeas, 0 nays.
Listed invoices in the total amount of $92,391.39 were approved for payment on a motion made by Dave, seconded by T.A. Roll call: John Haney-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Dawn Hanafin-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Nancy Bentley-yes, Dave McClelland-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes. Motion carried 8 yeas, 0 nays.
Jeff stated that Mark Moss wished to donate the $300.00 that was owed to him for doing plumbing inspections, back to the City for the purchase of trees.
Motion was made by Dawn T., seconded by Butch to enter executive session at 8:08 P.M. to discuss 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1), Personnel; 5ILCS 120/2 (c) (2), Collective negotiation; and 5 ILCS 120/2 (11), Litigation. Roll call: John Haney-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Dawn Hanafin-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Nancy Bentley-yes, Dave McClelland-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes. Motion carried 8 yeas, 0 nays.
Motion was made by Dawn, seconded by Dave to adjourn the executive session and return to regular session at 9:24 P.M.
