MINUTES OF THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON MAY 7, 2007
Newly elected officers were scheduled to take office at the first meeting of the council in the month of May following the April election. Due to the delay in receiving the Abstract of Votes for the April 17, 2007 Election, staff had confirmed with the Illinois State Board of Elections and the Illinois Municipal League that the city would need to delay the swearing in of newly elected officers until after the Abstract of Votes was received from the McLean County Clerk.
The meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Dave McClelland at 7:00 P.M. with all council members present at roll call except John Haney. Staff members present were Gordon Beck, Steve Reynolds, Jeff Clawson and Sue Marcum.
The Minutes of the April 30, 2007 Council Meeting were approved on a motion made by Jerry, seconded by Shirley. Roll call: Gary Koerner-yes, T.A. Whitsitt-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, Dave McClelland-yes. Motion carried 7 yeas, 0 nays.
The council reviewed the arrangement letter received from Henning, Strouse, Jordan&Stephens and a motion was made by Jerry, second was given by Butch to approve the engagement of this firm to perform the audit of the city’s financial statements for the year ending April 30, 2007, for a fee not to exceed $12,500. Roll call: Gary Koerner-yes, T.A. Whitsitt-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, Dave McClelland-yes. Motion carried 7 yeas, 0 nays.
Motion was made by Jerry, second was given by Dawn to table the Sales Tax Ordinance. Roll call: Gary Koerner-yes, T.A. Whitsitt-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, Dave McClelland-yes. Motion carried 7 yeas, 0 nays.
Resolution No. 07-05-01-90, Motor Fuel Tax Resolution was passed on a motion made by Jerry, second was given by Gary. Roll call: Gary Koerner-yes, T.A. Whitsitt-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, Dave McClelland-yes. Motion carried 7 yeas, 0 nays.
Minutes of the council meeting held on May 7, 2007 continued.
Listed invoices in the total amount of $449,300.46 were approved for payment on a motion made by Jerry, second by given by Shirley. Roll call: Gary Koerner-yes, T.A. Whitsitt-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, Dave McClelland-yes. Motion carried 7 yeas, 0 nays.
Motion was given by Dawn, second given by Butch to adjourn the regular scheduled council meeting at 7:40 P.M. Roll call: Gary Koerner-yes, T.A. Whitsitt-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, Dave McClelland-yes. Motion carried 7 yeas, 0 nays.
