MINUTES OF THE COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON NOVEMBER 20, 2006
The meeting was called to order at 7:03 P.M. by Acting Mayor Dave McClelland
with council members Butch Cook and Dawn Thompson absent at roll call. Staff
members present were Scott Bryant, Russ Morrow, Gordon Beck, Steve Reynolds,
Jeff Clawson and Sue Marcum.
Jerry made the motion and the second to the motion was given by Shirley to approve the November 6, 2006 Council Minutes with the correction on page 3, paragraph 3 beginning with “Listed invoices”, changing John Haney’s vote to a no. Roll call: John Haney-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Dave McClelland-yes. Motion carried 6 yeas, 0 nays.
Ordinance No. 06-11-02-10, An ordinance levying taxes for corporate purposes for the current year commencing on the first day of May, 2007 and ending on the thirtieth day of April, 2008 for the City of Le Roy, McLean County, Illinois was passed on a motion made by Jerry, second was given by T. A. Roll call: John Haney-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Dave McClelland-yes. Motion carried 6 yeas, 0 nays.
Motion was made by Jerry, second was given by Gary to table the Old Bank Inn Tax Increment Financing request from Brian Bowman. Roll call: John Haney-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Dave McClelland-yes. Motion carried 6 yeas, 0 nays.
Listed invoices in the total amount of $170,681.20 were approved for payment on the motion made by Jerry, second was given by T. A. Roll call: John Haney-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Dave McClelland-yes. Motion carried 6 yeas, 0 nays.
A letter dated October 30, 2006 from Mediacom informing the city that they may lose WYZZ-FOX, Channel 43 on or before December 1, 2006 was discussed. Motion was made by Jerry, second by John authorizing the Mayor to send a letter to Mediacom supporting the negotiations with WYZZ-FOX. Roll call: John Haney-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Shirley Chancellor-yes, Dave McClelland-yes. Motion carried 6 yeas, 0 nays.
The mayor read a letter written to the National Honor Society thanking them for painting the bandstand at Kiwanis Park.
Minutes of the meeting held 11/20/06 continued.
At 7:31 P.M. motion was made by John, second was given by Gary to adjourn the
regular session of the council and to enter the scheduled work session. Roll
call: John Haney-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, T. A. Whitsitt-yes, Jerry Henson-yes,
Shirley Chancellor-yes, Dave McClelland-yes. Motion carried 6 yeas, 0 nays.
