MINUTES OF THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
HELD JULY 7, 2003
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Robert Rice at 7:00 P.M. with council members Dawn Thompson and John Haney absent at roll call.
Chad Farischon’s yes vote was omitted from the roll call vote on all actions in the June 16, 2003 Regular Council Meeting. Motion was made by Chad, second by Dave to approve the June 16, 2003 minutes with corrections. Roll call: Dave McClelland-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Chad Farischon-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, Theresa O’Hare-yes. Motion carried 6 yeas, no nays.
Minutes of the Special Council Meeting held June 26, 2003 were approved on a motion made by Dave, second by Jerry. Roll call: Dave McClelland-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Chad Farischon-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, Theresa O’Hare-yes. Motion carried 6 yeas, no nays.
Jeff had composed a letter to Mediacom which requested a representative attend the next council meeting to address their delay installing the public access channel for the city. The council authorized the mayor to sign the letter to be sent.
The Water Plant ground breaking ceremony is scheduled for Monday, July 21st at 6:00 P.M. before the council meeting.
Motion was made by Jerry, second by Butch authorizing the mayor to sign the Linking and Licensing agreement provided by Nicor Gas which would enable the city access to Nicor’s new Easy Street Communities website. Roll call: Dave McClelland-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Chad Farischon-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, Theresa O’Hare-yes. Motion carried 6 yeas, no nays.
Motion was made by Butch, second by Gary to hold the check to be issued to the Le Roy Community School in the amount of $50,000 until the agreement is approved by both sides. Roll call: Dave McClelland-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Chad Farischon-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, Theresa O’Hare-yes. Motion carried 6 yeas, no nays.
Listed invoices in the total amount of $149,796.95 were approved for payment on a motion made by Gary, second by Theresa. Roll call: Dave McClelland-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Chad Farischon-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, Theresa O’Hare-yes. Motion carried 6 yeas, no nays.
Minutes of the July 7, 2003 Council Meeting Continued
Motion was made by Dave, second by Jerry to enter executive session at 7:58 P.M. to discuss 5ILCS 120/2 (c) (1), Personnel. Roll call: Dave McClelland-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Chad Farischon-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, Theresa O’Hare-yes. Motion carried 6 yeas, no nays.
Motion was made by Jerry, second by Dave to adjourn the executive session at 9:45 P.M. and return to regular session. Roll call: Dave McClelland-yes, Butch Cook-yes, Jerry Henson-yes, Chad Farischon-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, Theresa O’Hare-yes. Motion carried 6 yeas, no nays.
