MINUTES OF THE
REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
HELD MARCH 3, 2003
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Robert Rice at 7:00 P.M. Council members absent at roll call were John Haney and Dave McClelland. Staff members present were Steve Reynolds, Scott Shumaker, Perry Mayer, Jeff Clawson, Sue Marcum, and City Attorney, Jeff Abbott.
Minutes of the council meeting held February 17, 2003 were approved on a motion made by Jerry, second by Dawn. Roll call: Jerry Henson-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, Mayor Robert Rice-yes. Motion carried 4 yeas, 0 nays.
Pat Brown addressed the council on the upcoming tax referendum for the Le Roy Ambulance Service. He asked the council to give their support to this referendum.
Jeff Clawson told the council of the failure of the boiler heating system at the Community Building, 201 South Chestnut. He explained further that he had arranged for Peace Meal to be moved to Water Tower Place for the time being. The Scout Troops had been notified of the lack of heat in the building. Hardesty Heating had been requested to submit cost estimates to the city for the possible boiler replacement.
John Haney was seated at 7:25 P.M.
Perry Mayer reported the large water main leak had been located and fixed. The water plant hours of operation had come down significantly. His department was currently trying to correct the iron filter situation which had been on hold until the leak was located and fixed.
Listed invoices in the total amount of $13,884.40 were approved for payment on the motion made by Gary, second by John. Roll call: Jerry Henson-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, John Haney-yes. Motion carried 4 yeas, 0 nays.
Motion was made by Jerry Henson, second by Dawn to enter into executive session at 7:47 P.M. to discuss personnel, 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1). Roll call: Jerry Henson-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, John Haney-yes. Motion carried 4 yeas, 0 nays.
Motion was made by Dawn, second by John to adjourn the executive session at 8:29 P.M. and return to regular session. Roll call: Jerry Henson-yes, Gary Koerner-yes, Dawn Thompson-yes, John Haney-yes. Motion carried 4 yeas, 0 nays.
Dave McClelland was seated at 8:30 P.M.
